"Fatal EEPROM fault!" on Network UPS Tools?

I have a brand new Eaton 5SC 1500 UPS which I’ve connected via USB to my Home Assistant with the Network UPS Tools (NUT) add-on and integration. The sensor.eaton5sc1500_alarms reports “Fatal EEPROM fault!” Has anyone run into this? There are not faults displayed on the UPS itself.

Any advice?

Seems to have been reported to NUT devs before: https://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg09987.html

Check if your UPS firmware is up to date.

@tom_l Thank you. I will give that a try.

I checked the firmware and it is up-to-date so I don’t believe that is the cause of the error message. Not sure what to do. I’ve reached out to Eaton to ask them.

Did you hear back? I’m having the same issue

@ebf – I was told it is a firmware issue and that there is nothing wrong with the device itself. Have you been able to resolve it?

Did anyone in this thread figure out the issue? I have a ~2 year old Tripp Lite Smart Pro 2200 that has given me this error since day 1. I was unable to solve it 2 years ago and decided to ignore it, but now the issue is causing random graceful shutdowns as my servers are interpreting this fault as a power failure. Would love to figure out the issue before I set this UPS on fire.
