Feature Request: Support for Inkbird IHT-2PB Thermometer

I’d like to request support for the Inkbird IHT-2PB thermometer in the existing Inkbird integration.

The IHT-2PB is a Bluetooth-enabled thermometer that is widely used for BBQ and cooking, and it would be great to be able to monitor its readings directly within Home Assistant. Currently, this model is not recognized by the integration, and no temperature data is retrieved.

If possible, I’d be happy to assist in testing or providing any necessary device information (e.g., Bluetooth logs, service UUIDs, characteristics, etc.).

Thanks in advance for considering this request!

Have you tried the TheengsGateway add-on? I’ve found that it recognises Inkbird devices (though I haven’t got that particular one).

I installed the add-on as you suggested, configured it, and started it up. Since I didn’t see any device discovery in Home Assistant, I checked with MQTT Explorer.

Unfortunately, I only found what you can see in the screenshot regarding Inkbird. It seems like either I’m missing something in the setup, or this particular model isn’t compatible with TheengsGateway either.

Any ideas or suggestions would be very appreciated!

Don’t forget to vote for your own feature request.

I did find a temporary workaround by following this project:

It works really well!

Still, I hope that in the future the official integration will support this model directly, so we won’t need to go through an ESP32 board.

I signed up just to vote for this! I absolutely agree, this is a very common Inkbird product, being one of their cheapest models for barbecue monitoring.

Having some kind of “official” support for this would be really useful.

I’ve created a fork of ebw44’s repo and added : **complete ESP32‑S3 YAML support!
After some digging, testing, and fine‑tuning, everything now works smoothly ready for you to use and build on. And add some features to it like setting the temp for all the probes.
