I’d like to suggest a component which can print on serial POS printers such as those sold by Adafruit. In principal, one can simply write to the serial port and the printer will print on <cr><lf> but those printers have additional functions, such as different fonts, barcodes, etc. There are Open Source Arduino and Python libraries available from Adafruit.

I also would love to see this happening. With for example QR204 thermal printer.
