Feit 48ft. LED Outdoor Weatherproof Color Changing String Light Set

Hi All,

I have this light set and it comes with a RF remote. I’m interested in being able to automate it via Hass. I already have a 433Mhz receiver/sender on my Pi but that doesn’t see the remote so that must not be the freq. the remote is using. Anyone played around with these?

No, but if there is a FCC ID on the back of it, you can look up the FCC specs on it and get the details of what frequency it is using.

Thanks, I’ll give that a try.

I am also interested in this. Did you make any head way with these lights?

I did not. I got sidetracked and did not try looking up the FCC info for the freq. I do already have a 433Hz receiver/transmitter on my pi for use with switches. I did try listening for the LED remote and didn’t see anything so I do not think its on that freq. though. I do have my lights connected to a remote power switch. That doesn’t allow me to change colors, etc, but I can now turn them on and off with my automations.

I just stumbled onto this thread as I have the same lights…
Feit Model 72031 - 48ft Color Changing LED Light Set…

Anyway, I looked up the FCC ID as you can see here: https://fccid.io/2AIH2RF20160226B

I got very excited since it shows Frequency Range 433.92-433.92 MHz. However, I also don’t pick up any codes on 433 MHz. My testing is done using https://github.com/ninjablocks/433Utils RFSniffer utility, which works for me testing transmitter remote control devices from Etekcity RF switches.

I also have decided to just put a switch in front of the Feit lights, but it sure seemed hopeful there for a moment. Perhaps RFSniffer is not the proper tool?

I was thinking about getting the Broadlink RM Pro which does 433/315Mhz but your experience discourages me. I also tried previously using the RF receiver that I used to setup my Etekcity swtiches.
