Ffmpeg on pi3

Need to use ffmpeg for its RTSP integration with an Amcrest NVR. But despite decades in IT I’m not literate enough on linux to know how to install the ffmpeg package, and do it without blowing up my pi3.

Looking for some assistance as to where to get the right package, and how to install via terminal commands.

Once installed I should be able to get the URL’s configured properly.

It seems this was already installed, but I didn’t see it in /usr/bin and still don’t. Maybe due to permissions? Career IT guy but linux skills are rudimentary at best.

I have this working now, streaming 4 cameras from an Amcrest NVR. Streams all work fine… but another issue I will post.
