Hi All,
First post here, so be gentle. LOL
(Basic RPi4 HA install with a Aeon tech Z‐Stick Gen5 USB Controller)
So I am switching to HA from Fibaro and sorta of Control4. (C4 was not really implemented due to me not being able to program it and having to pay someone to load drivers and make connections)
I did have a full house running on Fibaro HC2, but a divorce later and no house, but a 40’ sail boat, i thought it would be a challenge to start give myself some smart BOAT features. lol
So one of those smart BOAT features that wish to start with is RGBW lights strips. (and some RGBW underwater lights for the transom). But when I started to looking to the RGBW FIBARO puk, it seems that all comments stopped about it last year and those were saying it was not great.
There has been a massive updates since then and OPEN Zwave has been depreciated in favour of ZWave JS.
As these lights are going to be ambient lighting I want to use the full colour wheel, scenes with different colours and transition or rainbow effects.
But I cant seem to find much information on it working in this respect.
So what I need to know:
- Are the FIBARO RGBW controllers/PUKs are stable in HA?
- Can they be used with a standard 5050 RGBW strip in HA?
- Can HA DIM the strip?
- Can I call a specific colour IE green or red via scenes in HA?
I did also look at the SHELLY RGBW puk, but it seems to have the same issues, and there is not much on that either. I also know about the WLED product, but I don’t need addressable LEDS.
If i have missed a howto or good post, Like I said I am new and the search sorta sucks.
But really happy to self educate if you can post the link!
Thanks for your time!
