Fibaro Switch 2 Single (FGS213) + Wired PIR

New to HA and the forum and have just started my journey after having plans for so long.

I have a wired PIR sensor in the hallway that has no physical switch (like that when I moved in), and the PIR sensor went bust lately, probably since I kept on turning off the lights on the fuse box and the sensor didn’t like that.

Since I had to replace the PIR anyway, I figured it would be an excellent time to jump into HA and add a smart switch to be able to turn on and off the lights and bypass the PIR.

I have a Fibaro Switch 2 (single) wired up to the PIR as detailed on (mains to PIR):

KB-85_Mains_PIR

PIR sensor was doing its thing and turning on/off the light and I was able to turn it on/off via HA dashboard also.

What I’d like to be able to do, if possible, is to ignore the motion from the PIR and keep the Fibaro switch in or off state.

I’ve played around with setting various advanced parameters (via Node Config Options) of the switch detailed here:
https://manuals.fibaro.com/switch-2/

Specifically:

  • First channel - operating mode
  • First channel - reaction to switch for delay/auto ON/OFF modes
  • First channel - time parameter for delay/auto ON/OFF modes

None of them appear to have the desired outcome but I may be understanding them wrong and I’m also a bit overwhelmed by how many settings there are in HA :stuck_out_tongue:

Since the PIR isn’t directly connected to the lights and goes through the Fibaro switch I figured it should be possible to configure the switch to ignore when S1 is activated by the PIR, but maybe it’s not that simple?

Any ideas much appreciated.

Just an update on this.

One thing I’m considering is actually just ditching the wired PIR and replacing it with a wireless z-wave version which could activate the relay switch (wish I had thought of this before!).

That would give me full control over how the relay switch responds then.

Would still be interested to know if it’s achievable with the wired version though or if it’s just not possible. It’s been working ok although occasionally the the lights seem to get stuck on or off.
