Fibaro vs Aeotec TRVs

Hi All,

I am currently using the Aeotec TRV with a Vera hub. This works fine, minus the feedback of valve open status.

I take the current temperature (which updates the Vera hub automatically) and the set point (set by HA) and I used this to control the boiler by using an automation. This works very well.

What doesn’t work so well is the Aeotec TRV. It seems that when you set the temperature to off, the valve stays open and allows the radiator to heat, in some cases, the room gets above 23 degrees! I have read elsewhere this is a known issue and others have returned them.

I want to try a Fibaro TRV but my question is, do the TRVs report back the room temperature, or is the additional temperature device required for this purpose? When the Fibaro updates, does it send back the current room temperature automatically (like the Aeotec) or does it need to be polled?

Thanks.

I didn’t realize Aeotec made these.
Shame you’re having issues.
I’m not being helpful, just marveling at European life.

I grew up with radiators and I never had skin problems because they made the air more humid.
Now that I own a house and have forced air like most modern American houses my skin really misses it.
