Fibaro Wall Plug: Operates once, then does not update

I just purchased some Fibaro Wall Plugs (Model FGWPB-121). They have been included just fine, showing up as FIBARO System Unknown: type=1401, id=2000 with multiple sensors and a single switch.

If I use Home Assistant to turn the plug on, it will turn on once. But the status will not update, it will continue to say that it is off. The only way I can get the switch status to update is if I refresh the node in the Z-wave configuration. If I manually shut off the switch, homeassistant is capable of turning it back on, and it won’t update its status or turn it off.

I tried adding secured, and I tried adding in unsecured.

Any one have any suggestions?

Further troubleshooting on this, if I manually refresh the node it will show the correct sensor state. I can then issue another control, and it will shut off if it was on, but then it continues to show that it is on, even though it is off. Then a node refresh will fix it… guessing I’ll have to take this up with the openzwave people…

I don’t have this type of device but on some of my other z wave devices (Aeotec switches) there is a setting that you can access via the z wave configuration section that switches the reporting type.

I think I had to change mine to “hail” to get it to report back the state to the controller.

Again I’m not sure if yours is like that but it may be a start to help investigate a solution.

Hmm thanks for the information, I read the whole menu and found no options for changing reporting type. I found a marginal work around in the Z-Wave Control Panel of Home Assistant for the switch node I set “polling intensity” to a 2 and now the switch will update withing about 20 seconds, which is ok for my applications.

I’m going to continue hunting around for this. In the Z-wave logs there is an error message after each control saying a response expected wasn’t received giving up on the control.

This device is not yet fully supported by OpenZWave (and therefore HA). Someone is trying to add it though.

It could be that a part of the config file is necessary to get the status updates. It’s definitely true that you need the config file to set the config parameters in the Z-Wave control panel.
