Filtrete Air Filter (BLE)

Hi!
This might be a little much, but I found the Filtrete Air Filter with BLE on it. And I wanted to see if we can find a way to read that data, either directly from the BLE like the Xiaomi Mi Flora or from Filtrete’s API (there is an Alexa and Google Home Integration)

Thank you!

This is an old request, but I have a filtrete air purifier. Any way to integrate into HASS?

Bump.

These Bluetooth enabled filters are becoming more common. Anyone working on an integration?

I, too, am interested in this feature.

It would be neat to have.

I assume you’re talking about the HEPA unit? I suspect that’s going to take some heavier lifting since that’s a wifi unit. I have one as well but haven’t been able to decipher anything from what I was able to sniff with wireshark. I suspect someone with more experience would be able to figure it out.

If you’re talking Filtrete furnace filters with the Bluetooth puck, I know for a fact you can read these with Bluetooth receivers. They broadcast a limited dataset but I seem to remember it being interesting enough. But this was when I randomly stumbled upon it trying to link a Bluetooth keyboard to my laptop years ago. It had a surprisingly decent range. I got one as a free sample but never really thought it was worth the extra cost.

Anyways, for the rest in the thread, now with Bluetooth support , I suspect this would be worth looking into for those who want to track it outside of the cloud.

Wish I could be of more help. Maybe I’ll look into this next time I get a sample.

I have one of these filters and I’d be happy to provide some data packet scanning results (if someone will show me how) so that someone else can create the integration part of it. Is this difficult or just time consuming?

Here is what the device looks like. What else can I do to help?

I would like to figure this out. I just installed one and looked at a BLE scanner and attached is what I can see with this basic scanner.
The main device looks right. The mfg info is “3M”. The BatteryService shows 79% (bummer its brand new! but assuming the battery will last longer than a filter). So, I’m assuming the ‘Primary Service’ is where the filter info / remaining life / pressures?? might be available. I haven’t looked into decoding any of that. I see they have integrations with IFTTT, Alexa, Google, so that info is out there someplace? (got blocked uploading multi pics as a newly registered user… I can post if anybody is interested)…
