Finally fought my fear, snapshotted the config directory, and updated to hacs 2.0. Everything seems to work except for the “Update Information” in the three-dot menu. It does not work in neither of browsers, I cleared cache, relogged-in - nothing help. Surprisingly, reinstall menu works just fine.
Does anyone have the same problem?
You need to make sure you have really cleared all remnants of HACS from the cache or it will haunt your setup.
Any attempt to correct any errors before having fully cleared the cache will just make a bigger mess.
Maybe that does not do what you think it does.
What that does is refresh the metadata HACS knows about that repository.
I logged into HA from a fresh install of Chromium that I never used to log in before - still the same issue.
Oh wait, so this is not a replacement of the old “update” in hacs 1.0. Okay, updates are now in settings->updates. I never ever used this menu because I manage versions of my software external to HA. My bad lol.
