I am writing these instructions to help others struggling (like me) to get a Fire 7 (2022) tablet to not revert to the swipe screen, even when running Fully Kiosk browser (pro).
The symptom: With Fully Kiosk Pro showing a webpage (such as HA Alarmo keypad) and running in kiosk mode, the tablet screen goes to black after 60 seconds, even though you previously set the tablet display settings to only turn off screen after 30 minutes. Then when you touch the screen to wake up the display (to see your keypad, say) the Android swipe screen is now visible. Although you don’t use a tablet PIN, this swipe the screen nonetheless appears.
Solution: I tried a lot of different options in the Fully Kiosk settings. But none could overcome the symptom. Here is what worked. Once you install the Fully Kiosk integration in Home Assistant, you get some controls that allow you to control the Fully Kiosk screen. There’s a panel called Controls that has within it, an option called Bring to foreground. After activating this option, the Android swipe screen never re-appeared. Solved!
There are some settings in the Fully Kiosk app that might do this, too, but I haven’t tested them. For instance, the setting Other Settings > Consider Device in Use while Using Another App might accomplish this, but not sure.
Anyway, hope this helps someone.
