Hi all, did anyone find a true tap to wake app for the fire HD (not just an app that keeps the screen on all the time but just black) they all seem to do that from what I found on the app store.
I have lineageOS on it too if that helps.
You could use the “fully kiosk browser”. This has loads of configuration where also you could turn of the screen and when there is movement it will automatically go on.
I actually have this installed already but I don’t want the motion detection to switch on the screen every time I walk past it hence I would like a tap to wake option but doesn’t look like kiosk has that. Though I need to try the accelerometer wake as a tap which in theory should trigger it
Device movement doesn’t work on tap need to move tablet a lot to register and microphone just doesn’t register at all, strange
Did you ever figure this out? I am having the same problem. I would like the screen to wake on tap when motion detection is not fast enough or it is dark.
Nah, it doesn’t work as expected. With no light it detects no movement, if a light is switched on it “detects” movement.
Just have the screen always on, black screensaver/brightness to 0 and then if tap it turns the brightness up, removes black screen
I know it’s been months but I came across the same issue. No motion detected when dark, however, what has worked for me is that in the Fully Kiosk Browser I have enabled the device motion detection and set the sensitivity to very high level - 93%. This way the slightest tap on the screen wakes it up. BTW, I have 2021 Fire 10 HD.
Bump
I, too, have been attempting a Tap-to-Wake setup with Fully Kiosk on my Fire HD10 tablet. So far I’ve only been able to do exactly what OP posted, which is to make the screen black and wake up with a tap. I want the screen off while it waits for my tap.
Has anyone been able to make this work?
