It looks like this device should work with HA with an Insteon modem without needing the cloud support: New Insteon PLM modem integration option via MQTT - #51 by TD22057
Alternatively, it does look like the Zooz 800 can monitor hardwired OneLink detectors, and you could extend that to the wireless ones if you get a SA520B to bridge the two. Perhaps a listener isn’t the worst idea though. My X-Sense one seems to work fine with the HASS repository.
As for why to go through such lengths to make this system work, I have an old house that I wanted to interlink wirelessly, and I don’t want it to depend upon a hub, power, or any type of internet connection to set them off. There don’t seem to be a lot of options for that.
