This question is for anyone who is using the RM4 relay on their First Alert smoke/CO detector to integrate with HA. I understand that the circuit opens when there is smoke, CO, or a low battery. Is there a difference in how long the circuit opens when in low battery state?
For example, I would imagine in fire or CO alerts, the circuit opens and stays open. But when the detector is in low battery, does the circuit open for a period of time (the low battery chirp), then close?
I ask because that would allow for an automation to trigger when the circuit opens. The automation could pause for a specified time (5 seconds), then check to see if the circuit is still open. If it’s now closed, any alerts pushed by HA can have a message suggesting a possible low battery state.
