Hi,
New to HAOS and Devices, I have HAOS setup on Rpi5, I have read hours of Web pages and watched many youtubes on my question below, but think I need some help now.
I have purchased several Sonoff Zigbee Sensors:
SNZB-05P Water Leak
SNZB-02P Temperature and Humidity
SNZB-06P Human Presence Sensor
If this is the wrong place to ask about these, please point me in the direction, thanks.
I see some discussions on github, but the above get no mention:
I am aware these devices will all work with HAOS via the various Add-ons and Integrations (yet to be installed), and either a Dongle-‘P’ or ‘E’.
Can the above devices be flashed with say Tasmota, so to avoid the eWeLink cloud privacy issues, I have googled for some flashing guides for the above devices, but only find one, but this is for a SNZB-02, (the ‘P’ is missing - and not sure the difference between SNZB-02 and SNZB-02P):
I note many Sonoff Devices supported by Tasmota, but the website below is unclear on whether they are or are not supported (see my comments at the end):
I note there is also a ‘Flashless’ solution:
… but this only lists the SONOFF SNZB-02 as being ‘Zigbee tested’, not the SNZB-02’P’ which I have, and its under the heading ‘Only Cloud’, so does that mean it still uses the cloud ?
Lastly - Dongle-P or E ?? I have read several long threads here, at this stage I am unsure whether I will use ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT, and I read the ‘E’ had some issues with Zigbee2MQTT a while ago … have those now been resolved ??
I guess I need to know which dongle type will support my devices … ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT, on this list I find 2 of my devices supported by both ZHA and Z2M:~
But not the Water Leak (SNZB-05P), although this is a reasonably new product.
The above supported Zigbee list shows the ‘Tasmota’ logo next to the 2 devices mentioned above (SNZB-02P and SNZB-06P) … does that mean they are supported ?
Any help pointers appreciated.
