I have checked some threads on this forum that the ideal way of integrating your Kogan smartbulbs with HA is by flashing it with Tasmota. I’ve seen the repo but the first step on doing it is still unclear to me.
I have Raspberry Pi 4 with ethernet cable connected to the Router. I have the smartbulbs but I have not set up via a Kogan (aka Tuya customised) cloud account yet as I want to set it up locally.
So, my question is how do I install the software (or flash the Tasmota image) into the Kogan (I saw in some comments that it is by using RP4 but how?)
Thanks, I only have one RP4 and already flashed with HA. From the first few instructions, the video looks like you would need a separate RP4 to flash for Tasmota (raspbian lite) or my assumption is incorrect and it won’t override whatever HA has on my RP4?
Just to ad to the discussion, I have used tuya-convert many times successfully. Most lately on Kogan energy monitoring plugs. Great value plugs. However, I tried just one Kogan bulb (warm white, not colour variety) but did me tuya-convert failed & bricked the bulb. So I didn’t try on the bulbs again. Instead I just opted to use the tuya cloud addon. It’s works fine.
