Flowise, Ollama, LocalAI, and Home Assistant—Any Cool Ways to Connect Them?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been hanging around the Home Assistant community for a while now, and I’ve really caught the voice-assistant bug. Lately, I stumbled upon this neat tool called Flowise, which plays nicely with Ollama and LocalAI to power up large language models. That got me thinking: Could I somehow plug this into Home Assistant for even cooler automations and voice control?

My Exploration So Far

I’m pretty good at running home servers and messing around with tech, but I’m not exactly a professional developer—more like your friendly “script kiddy” who tinkers around and hopes things don’t blow up. So, I’ve been doing some digging, and I’ve seen that Flowise can integrate with Ollama and LocalAI, possibly by letting you expand the resources an LLM has access to. I see Flowise itself to be a great opportunity if one wanted to play with those LLM capapbilites and tools.

The Big Idea

I’d love to see if there’s a way to hook this up to Home Assistant so we can have a conversation layer (or something like that) which lets Flowise talk to HA. For simplicity and making advantage of the preexisting integrations, I might need to create some kind of conversion layer to emulate an Ollama-like API on Flowises side. But now I don’t really have the experience for that.

Questions for the Community

Has anyone out there tried connecting Flowise (or Ollama/LocalAI) to Home Assistant? I’d be super grateful for any tips, pointers, or maybe even a nudge in the right direction:

  • Any projects, repos, or tutorials I should check out?
  • Any best practices for bridging Flowise and Home Assistant?

Thanks in Advance

Anyway, I hope I’m following the forum guidelines here. Really appreciate any advice you can offer. Thanks : )
