because i have no other option at this time then the hakey to get to camera from HA (i need to figure that out)
there is only the option that you set the ha_key back in appdaemon.yaml
they can be both there, appdaemon will take the token and the foscam app will use the key.

When I add the line “ha_key:! secret hass_password” in appdaemon.yalm it is automatically deleted at appdaemon restart.

try not using secret.
if it still gets deleted, then complain by frenck, because he wrote the addon so that the config gets overwritten.
which shouldnt be, because you can add all kind of stuff to the appdaemon.yaml
