There should be a service to sync the device name in HA to Unifi. This would simplify troubleshooting and management in Unifi.
I suggest HA → Unifi name syncing because it’s natural (and necessary?) to manage and curate device names in HA, while it’s far less common in Unifi console.
When a device connects to my Unifi network Unifi names it based on the hostname. If you’re lucky, that’s something like Aqara-Hub-M2-9786 (which makes a unique name with some of the MAC address). At worst it’s something like Aidot.
In my case, Aidot is the hostname for my wifi-connected (Matter) smart bulbs, of which I have about 15. Now that I’m having some network issues with a particular bulb, I have no idea which device it is. I’ve started going through my devices in HA, looking up the current IP addresses, and configuring names in Unifi. This should be done automatically.
