I’ve continued the Frank Energie custom integration, since the original one (bajansen/home-assistant-frank_energie) is no longer maintained and stopped working when Frank Energie changed its API.
Repository: GitHub - archofthings/home-assistant-frank-energie: Home Assistant integration for Frank Energie: Hourly/15min electricity and gas prices, plus optional account costs and invoices. Installable via HACS. · GitHub
Documentation: Home · archofthings/home-assistant-frank-energie Wiki · GitHub
What it does
Without an account
- Electricity and gas prices per quarter-hour or per hour: all-in, market price, tax, VAT and markup
- Lowest, highest and average price today and tomorrow, the next price, and a sensor that turns on when tomorrow’s prices arrive
- Price analysis: every slot labelled cheap, normal or expensive (optionally “cheap + solar” with your solar forecast), plus the cheapest block of the day for the length you choose
- A
frank_energie.get_pricesaction for scripts, automations and Node-RED
With your Frank Energie login
- The prices of your own contract
- Monthly costs, invoices and yearly totals
- Yesterday’s and this month’s usage, costs and feed-in
- Hourly usage and costs as long-term statistics for the Energy dashboard
Sensors come in groups, so you only get the ones you use.
Install
Requires Home Assistant 2026.9 or newer.
In HACS: menu → Custom repositories → add the repository above as type Integration, download Frank Energie and restart. Then add the integration under Settings → Devices & services.
Coming from the original integration?
You can switch without losing anything: the domain and the entity IDs are the same, so entities and history are kept. The steps are on the Upgrading page of the wiki.
Documentation
The wiki explains every setting, sensor and attribute, and has:
- a chart gallery with ready-to-use dashboard cards
- automation examples, such as running an appliance in the cheapest period
- a troubleshooting page
Feedback
Bug reports and ideas are welcome in the GitHub issues of the repository, or in this thread.
This is a community project, not affiliated with Frank Energie. Thanks to bajansen, HiDiHo01 and the contributors of the original integration.
