Hello fellow tinkerers
The first few years with HA were awesome. I am slowly converting a farm in South Africa into a more automated place. Boreholes, sulphur burners, packshed etc. Currently I am busy setting up a smart meter and the Energy section in HA to separate the power costs between business and private. I am responsible for the IT in our family business, which I enjoy and in which see much potential.
Future projects will be data logging in our greenhouse, implementation of a CCTV security system (incl. Frigate) and a 100kW solar setup.
Till now, the forum and sometimes ChatGPT were a great help. But mainly the coding is giving me challenges. After a long day on the farm, it is hard to spend the night trying to get things working when the GUI cannot handle me needs anymore. That is why I would like to find somebody to help me “to crack the hard nuts”:
- does not have to be a professional, but somebody with experience in coding and setting up similar setups
- topics like energy monitoring, CCTV with Frigate incl. object recognition, integrating the solar system should be familiar
- preferably south african, since we have special circumstances regarding our dearest power supplier Eskom (load shedding, power surges etc.)
- no hardware installation (travelling) is needed, that is my part
