Fresh Install, mqqtbroker setup FAIL

Thanks to all for this fantastic collective system called Homeassistant.

Some time ago (1 year +) an update broke mqqt in my install. At the time I tried a purge/reinstall with luck, and gave up. Fast forward, and I just downloaded haos_ova-9.0.vdi.zip, spun up a new vbox vm the other day.

So I try, once again to install the Mosquitto broker Current version: 6.1.3 add-on, very carefully following the provided instructions, it seams to fail.

Follow these steps to get the add-on installed on your system:

Navigate in your Home Assistant frontend to Supervisor -> Add-on Store.
Find the "Mosquitto broker" add-on and click it.
Click on the "INSTALL" button. DONE

How to use

The add-on has a couple of options available. To get the add-on running:

Start the add-on. Done, but the green indicator (top right) remains red.
Have some patience and wait a couple of minutes.
Check the add-on log output to see the result.

Create a new user for MQTT via your Home Assistant's frontend Configuration -> Users (manage users) , (i.e. not on Mosquitto's Configuration tab). Notes:

This name cannot be homeassistant or addons, those are reserved usernames.
If you do not see the option to create a new user, ensure that Advanced Mode is enabled in your Home Assistant profile. DONE

To use the Mosquitto as a broker, go to the integration page and install the configuration with one click:

Navigate in your Home Assistant frontend to Configuration -> Integrations.
MQTT should appear as a discovered integration at the top of the page
Select it and check the box to enable MQTT discovery if desired, and hit submit.

DONE

However the ‘active indicator’ never turns green. After setting some time there are further entries in the log.

I simply must conclude that there is something missing from the setup instructions.

I need mqqt because I have 4 feit switches and some light bulb that have tasmota installed on them. [Tasmota 11.0.0 by Theo Arends]

I have changed the user/password of one FIET switch to the new one created above. No Joy
They were successfully flashed awhile ago and worked with some minor issues till the system was broken by the upgrade I was never able to get fixed.

Thanks again for your help.
