Hi all,
I’m very new to HA and trying to figure out how to add my Friedirch Unifit ACs. I’ve been trying the GitHub - mac-zhou/midea-ac-py: Home Assistant Custom Integration for Midea Group(Hualing, Senville, Klimaire, AirCon, Century, Pridiom, Thermocore, Comfee, Toshiba, Carrier, Goodman, Friedrich, Samsung, Kenmore, Trane, Lennox, LG and much more) Air Conditioners via LAN. integration but during its configuration I got stuck on finding the device id. And now I’m not sure if I should even be using that integration. Any and all help would be very welcome! Thank you.
Try this integuration
Thank you! I did try it a few days ago but it didn’t work when I specified the IP.
Right now I’m looking into LocalTuya setup but if you think the Midea AC LAN should work I’ll give it another try.
Hi - i’m also looking into this. The Midea AC LAN did not find any devices even with the static ip. Please let me know if you’ve come across a solution.
LocalTuya
However, you do need to hack the code some and understand how to configure the climate entity
Additionally, I notice that they tend to start throwing timeout errors until I restart HA again
so all in all, it seems pretty half baked
i might submit a PR to localtuya to try to improve the climate entity but i’m not sure if it will be accepted
You can add Friedrich Chill Premier ACs to Home Assistant using the Tuya integration (i.e. cloud Tuya - I wasn’t able to figure out LocalTuya).
First, however, you need to configure your Friedrich AC in the Tuya/Smart Life app. FriedrichGO is just a locked down reskin of the Tuya app, but when you use it to configure your AC, third party integrations are limited to Alexa and Google Assistant. Instead, remove the AC from FriedrichGO and pair it with the Tuya app using the same process described in the instructions for FriedrichGO (hit DISPLAY on the remote 6 times and so on).
Once your AC shows up in Tuya/Smart Life, you should be able to add it to Home Assistant. The only oddity I’ve encountered is that the temperature numbers are all doubled. No idea yet how to fix that.
