I am lagging behind in versions, currently running HA 0.114.4 in Docker (Ubuntu), un-supervised on a NUC.
Tried to upgrade to upgrade to 0.117.6 some weeks ago, but I got some bluetooth problems and rolled back again.
To get back into an up-to-date and supported install, I would like to install Debian 10 and supervised HA with Docker.
How can I do this with the least amount of trouble? My first attempt would be do a complete backup of the config dir and restore that in the new install. Would this work at all?
I have both Z-wave, Zigbee and some wifi sensors installed today. I am especially concerned about Z-wave, it would take a week to reinclude and build up automations again…
Marius,
I just did the update to HassOS on the NUC. Go for it. Easy to swap out the SSD and give it a whirl. I followed the instructions from murphys_law. Easy as pie.
I had exactly the same setup as you prior to the change. Don’t trouble with docker and debian if you don’t need to. KISS.
I have been considering using HassOS instead, but would like the freedom of installing other applications in docker containers aswell. Not sure if I need it, but would like to keep the option at least
After getting a vanilla Home Assistant running after install, I could not get myself to paste all the years with cluttering, so I decided to redo it all, except for Z-wave (which just worked after inserting the UZB1 and copying the Z-wave OZW…xml
Now I am looking at countless hours of setting up everything. Exhausting and fun at the same time
