Fronius integration battery grid charging problems

Hi all,
My new setup is:

  1. Inverter:Fronius Verto Plus
  2. Battery:Fronius Reserva

The Fronius integration works fine with only one problem.

The feed-in-charge entity appears not to be working. Here is the exact situation as it appears.
Using only the verto web interface I can only trigger “forced charge” state by the time schedule. If that state is not triggered by the schedule the battery is never charged by the grid - if there is no surplus from the panels it is not charged.
turning on the modbus control appears to lock the battery in whichever state it is at this moment (if it is force charging it keeps on doing this regardless of the time schedule)
The battery_grid_charging entity has no effect on the situation in any case. Turning it on or off doesn’t change anything as far as I can tell. Charge power limiting works.
Am I missing something?
Anyone with this setup able to control a charge from the grid through home assistant?
Any help will be appreciated at the moment the only (obviously insane) way I am able to trigger a charge from the grid is - stop modbus contro - turn on time schedule in the web interface - turn back modbus control. then this needs to be repeated when I want to turn off the force charge.

I think battery grid charging only applies until the minimum reserve value is reached.

If that is the case potentially automation can be created which rises the min. reserve to 100% and turns on the grid charging. That should force the battery to start charging from the grid immediately. I will test that and report back.

Actually works. Thanks for that - it would have never crossed my mind to test this.
The only problem left now is the rate of charge. It triggers grid charging but at a very slow rate about 400w. Probably set in technician settings (I don’t have this level of access).
Tried modbus ( (address=40348 - 40001, value=1) (address=40356 - 40001, value=5000) ) with no effect.
