Full support for AVM Fritz!Dect 302 thermostate - HA should be the master

Hello togehter,

I just started today with the implementation of AVM Fritz!Dect 302 thermostates to HA.

I was wonderung during the implementstion about the behaviour. FritzOS is always overwriting my HA settings.

So I am wodering if there is no possibility to write back the settings from HA to FritzOS.
I saw that those entities are mostly sensors, so read only and there are no services.

Won‘t it no be worse to give HA the possibility to write the values back, like comfort and eco temperatures, schedules, vacation time …

Thanks.

Hi @Phoenix-DH

From Fritzbox point of view, HA is like any other common user, which just controls the smart home devices. So if you have further automations configured on your Fritzbox (eq. schedulers or routines).
So you’ve the choice to disable any automated tasks on the Fritzbox side, those only HA (and physical user interactions) will influence the smart home settings on the Fritzbox.

Hey, agree … partly…

But due to the fact that you cannot completely stop things on FritzOS, like the scheduler or you have no possibility to adapt things … only agree partly.

Also that most of the things are read only from HA side.

This is partly a difference to others. Means you are forced to use FritzOS because you won‘t know when things are overwritten in HA as example .

That’s not correct, you can disable the scheduler (I know it, since I’ve done so) - just mark all as “cool-down temperature” then it is disabled

i’m not sure, what you mean by this. Please provide concrete example, what FritzOS changes on its own and which devices you mean.

Please also explain this a bit more in detail, thx

I tried that … but then when I click on safe, my current setted temperature by HA was overwritten by eco temp from FritzOS. And I read that all night FritzOS will sync the things again.

And what I mean with no possibility to adapt things is:
You can not set schedules, vacation, eco and comfort temo from HA to FritzOS. But if this is needed when your output with disabling should be possible, I don‘t know …

Thanks for your responses.

only this single time when clicking on save, or somehow periodic?

I’m not sure, what you mean with this?

Just set the wanted eco and comfort temperature on Fritzbox side, than use the from HA side by setting the wanted preset (eco or comfort). You can also create schedules in HA and create automations based on it, which will set the wanted presets and/or HVAC modes or what ever you can imagine.

Anyway, it doesn’t make sense that HA will monitor and always override the settings on the Fritzbox, since HA can’t know, if these changes are on purpose (eq. somebody enabled the heating, because it’s cold, or disabled it, because the window has been opened). Overall I think you’re more looking for support on how to use this integration or automate things in generell - for this I recommend to have a look at the Configuration - Home Assistant Community section.
