Fully Kiosk Browser and 0.51.2

Since updating to 0.51 Fully Kiosk Browser isn’t loading any components (the header and left menu are working however). I tried clearing cache, restarting the tablet, even uninstalling and reinstalling the app, no success.

Has anyone encountered this or have another idea for testing?

Running on an Amazon Kindle Fire.

althought i’m not running the kiosk version. I’m seeing the same issue on chrome when i access HA outside my network. And that started for me right after i upgraded to 0.51.2

I just installed Fully Kiosk Browser for the first time today and am only seeing the blue and white background of Home Assistant. I’m running a rooted Gen 5 Fire 7 and HASS 0.51.2

I emailed the developer asking how to best debug it. It should be using the same version of WebKit as Chrome, however in my case Chrome seems to work and Fully does not. I’m not sure why that is.

Same issue is with android webkit and any dash app from HA community (WallPanel)
Only Chrome work

Ok it’s works. Update Fully Kiosk browser and android web view. Everything works like a charm

Updated Fully Kiosk Browser to latest version, also updated Android System Webview.
Doesn’t work here, on a Fire 7 gen 5 (non rooted).
It worked like a charm before updating to 0.51.2
Anyone?

Same. Still not working.

With all current app updates applied it works on a 2013 Nexus 7 (rooted) but not on a Fire 7 gen 5 (rooted) or Fire 7 Gen 7 (non rooted).

Checked with 0.52 and same deal.

Interestingly, if you pull the fully left menu out, you can faintly make out the home screen in HA. Even changing group tabs however shows the same home screen… so something is rendering.

Has anyone figured this out yet ?

Negative. There’s an open ticket regarding the issue, but without being able to find the root cause, no fix is in sight:

ideas welcome.

I think this is a problem with the engin the developers of the browsers use. If I use a random browser (Mercury) I get the same result as with FullyKiosk. But if I use Silk or Chrome (one of the updates for Chrome a few weeks ago fixed this) everything is loading fine.
The only problem with Chrome and Silk is, there is no fullscreenmode, so I loos most of the screen for naviation and status and browsertabs, so it is pritty unusable.
Not shure why, but FullyKiosk works on my old phone without a problem (maby a problem with not enough resources in the Firetablet?)

Maby there is a way to implement a fullscreenbutton in HA which overlays the whole browerser (like some slideshows do).

You can install the latest Android System WebView yourself. They are using the system WebView.

I suspect it’s permissions of some kind. Nothing shows up in console, which makes me think it’s not web socket related.

OK, had high hopes. So, is every Browser on Android using the same engine?
Is there a chance to make a simple glued together Android browser which can do fullscreen and it might work, or it dosnt cause rights from Google?

I run the chromium browser at startup in kiosk mode on my Pi

/usr/bin/chromium-browser --window-size=1024,768 --kiosk --window-position=0,0 https:<redacted> &

I get exactly the same problem. I have not had chance to look into it yet. I am on 0.53.1

Cheers

I updated to 0.54.0 and it works!

So I use a File Tablet (7") and fullykiosk and in fullscreen everything works great!

Yup. Looks like this got fixed in 0.54. So upgrade if you have a problem.

My Fire Tablet 7 is also working again since updating to 0.54

Is anyone able to stream from the camera on Fully Kiosk? I am trying to replace Wallpanel with it but I want the camera. (trying not to use IP cam pro)
