Fully Kiosk Moving to Foreground; Taking Priority Over Other Android App

I’m running Fully Kiosk on one of my tablets (Nexus 7) and all of a sudden the behavior has changed negatively for me. I used to run Fully Kiosk in the background so that it could send periodic sounds when doors open and close, but otherwise, the tablet is used as an alarm clock by my bed using an alarm clock app. Recently, the alarm clock app would randomly close and Fully Kiosk would open even though nothing to my knowledge triggered this to occur. With Fully Kiosk now up, I lose the alarm clock view on my screen.

I was able to bandage this issue by creating a HA automation that takes any change from the alarm clock app to the Fully Kiosk app and immediately loads back the alarm clock app. This works, but seems silly. I wish I knew why Fully Kiosk was taking over the alarm clock app all of a sudden.

Did you accidentally turn on kiosk mode?

I use Fully Kiosk Browser (as opposed to Fully Kiosk App) and it have a setting for Kiosk Mode

No. Kiosk mode is not turned on.

I was playing with Fullly Kiosk setting in HA, see if the “send to background” command have any effect on what you want

I tried this and instead of taking me back to my Alarm Clock app, it took me to the home screen. I ended up purchasing another Lenovo M8 (versus my Nexus 7 which can’t be updated any longer) and I think I may have things finally working out. Time will tell. Thank you for your suggestion though.

I just checked it and the Alarm Clock app somehow ended up back to Fully Kiosk without any interaction. So frustrating. When I clicked send to background it took me to the Android home screen.

hmmm could it be the screensaver and orientation change that bring it back to forground?

As it turns out, I think it’s actually the My Alarm Clock app that was giving it trouble. I’ve tried another alarm clock app and haven’t had the issue yet. When running the original app even without Fully Kiosk running in the background, the app would eventually not respond. Go figure.

Sadly, I really enjoyed that app over the years, but I’m off to fine a new one. You’d be surprised at how few apps there are out there for a bedside tablet clock. Thank you again for your suggestions.
