Recently my home assistant instance seemed to have froze. I preformed a system reboot and everything came back up. After going to my wall mount dashboard I noticed that all the custom cards on my Fire 8 tablet were showing the Red message “custom element does not exist.” I’m not sure why since all was working fine previously.
I tried the normal HA restart, clear cache, and reloaded a few custom cards but still the messages remain. I tried to open the HA android app that was also installed and that too shows the messages. Seems to be only on the fire 8 tablet as my fire 10 tablet works same with web browser on PC and IOS app.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to get this working correctly.
My work around currently is to use web browser to display my dashboard but I’m not a fan of the lack of an 100% full screen.
Update. Everything is back to normal not exactly sure what solved the issue. My dashboard is back working in both the HA app and fully kiosk browser.
Your browser updated its page and got wrong info.
Now the cache had that info and kept showing it until the timeout of the cache forced it to get updated info.
You could have done a force update on the browser, which is not the same as click just the update icon.
Clicking just the update icon will not force an update of the cache, but just read the cache with the faulty info again.
I have the same issue, I did a factory reset on the tablet now the custom cards do not load, I have tried resetting the cache in Fully Kiosk but its still doing the same. Mind you a factory reset should have deleted on the cache in any case. After the factory reset I had to reload Full Kiosk again and my wifi mac address changed, not sure if that has anything to do with it?
