I am so frustrated by trying to get these remotes to work… I have 4 Cree bulbs connected via a Wink hub (cannot use in-wall switch due to missing neutral wire).
I just need a way to get these to connect through HASS, the Aeon Zwave stick, or the Wink hub.
I would prefer to get these to work since I have already sunk the money in for them but if not then I need to find another solution to get a wall switch that does not require a neutral wire.
I am right there with you. I have tried all day today to get this to work. I can see the controller in the open zwave control dashboard but I don’t see a way to change group to scene mode.
Also the open zwave dashboard is so finicky that it takes several tries to get it work properly.
The easiest part of this was updating the firmware on the minimote.
Be sure that you’re copying the zwave network from HASS to your remote. Otherwise, you won’t be able to edit scenes with it.
Like I said - I did this with an Intermatic HA07 and it was no big deal. I had to put the HA07 into a state where it was ready to receive the network, then told OZW to add it.
Then I created scenes for the HA07 following it’s instructions. HASS sees that the lights were turned on/off. Sometimes instantaneously (it depends on the zwave device you turn on/off and whether it supports instant status updates). Otherwise, HASS sees the change when status is polled.
If you want a light to turn on when you press a button on the pico or 45631, you’ll need to configure that remote to turn the light on.
Figures… Well thank you very much - really. I have ordered 1 of these and it should be here tonight for testing. Hopefully this will solve my dilemma. If it works I may get a spare as well.
Anyone interested in the others? I do not need to make a profit
I did the All in One Installer, where is the best location to find what the names of Zwave devices that have been added. Since the minimote doesn’t show up in HASS I need to know the name so I can add it to automation file.
If you change the logging in your configuration.yaml file to log at the info level you should see the name when you push the buttons. You will see the entry showing the id and the scene button you pushed. Do a tail -f home-assistant.log
in the configuration directory.
Another thing you can do is open OZW and press a button on the minimote. The name will display in the shell/putty session that you launched OZW from. Look for “event received” or similar.
@zarthan, have you had any issues with the Lutron remote not staying paired? I’ve noticed in the last few days that the remote no longer triggers the light to turn on\off. I have to remove it from the WINK hub do a factory reset on the remote and connect it again. Next day same issue.
