Hey all, picked up one of these units surplus to try out, and it wasn’t obvious from the packaging what frequency it worked on. After getting it home and open I searched on the FCC ID for info and apparently it works on 433.92mhz. However I can’t get rtl_433 to see it.
Has anyone had one of these and gotten it working in HA? I’d really like to use it as a scene controller.
Thanks!
There are so many types of RF remotes, not every time one can expect it is supported.
If you have an rtl_433 compatible device, you may try an app called URH to record a signal from your remote. Such info may give more idea to identify the exact protocol.
In case it is not supported, get some cheap ESP8266 device and another cheap 433 MHz receiver module attached to one if its GPIO pin. With this setup you can make a sniffer and easily add a new protocol to some existing library.
Thanks for the info! I will do that when I have a chance. We just moved and all of my gear is packed up right now, but when I find everything I will see what I can figure out. I’s likely to be a bit above my skill level right now, but I’ll give it a go.
