Generic Thermostat question - Turn them off?

Hey everyone. Quick question about generic thermostats. Is there a service to turn them off? I didn’t see one like that for climate. I was also wondering if away mode does anything for a generic thermostat?

I have a generic thermostat set up that I want to only be active during my ecobee’s sleep mode. Currently I have an automation that sets the target temp to 70F when the ecobee is in sleep mode, and 50F when it is not (effectively turning it off). But I wonder if there is a more straight forward way?

Did you find a solution? I am also trying to turn off generic thurmostats during a schedule and can’t seem to get it right

I never found a way to officially turn it off. Setting the target temp to 50F has been working well enough for me though.
