I’m using the iOS app side-by-side with OwnTracks and for from reason OwnTracks is more reliable, now for instance I’m at home and have so been for last 10h the iOS app tracker says “not home” while OwnTracks still says I’m home.
Is there any configurations I can make?
Currently I have made no config at all, it just showed up and I guess it piggy back on my OwnTracks config?
Hi, yeah. I have it up and running but sometimes the app think it’s somewhere else while owntracks keeps track of it self. Kind of annoying when all of a sudden all lights and sonos turns off
Yeah, I’ve noticed that too. Whenever I restart home assistant, it shows me as away for some reason, when I’m still home! I have to open the app and update my location manually to get it to change it to ‘home’. I think it still needs a little bit of work?
When you reboot/restart HASS you will need to tell it to resend your location. As far as the iOS app and Owntracks are concerned, you haven’t moved so there is no need to resend your location.
I don’t have my wife’s phone with me right now, but if memory serves right you should be able to go into the HomeAssistant app. On the bottom right click “More”. Scroll all the way down to choose “Settings”. Somewhere in settings there should be a submenu for “Location”. Once in there I believe there is an arrow in the top right that you can press to manually report your location.
Some of that may not be 100% accurate though since I’m doing it by memory.
