Hi

Thanks for the opportunity  Do you plan to expand in future to Europe market ? or only US ?

Vincèn

Hi Vincen,

We will definitely be expanding to the European market. Regarding the gateway, it will work without issues in Europe. However, the recessed lights and switches follow different standards. If you are interested in joining this plan, feel free to email us with details about your home setup, the schedule for installing the lights, and your preferred type of lights.

Requiring at least 100 down lights per install seems like that would eliminate most participants.

The reason we set this requirement is that we want to demonstrate our product’s ability to reliably control a large network through multiple gateways connected within the local network. We understand that this might be challenging, and if it turns out to be too difficult, we’re open to considering a lower requirement.

I have a rather large installation with 8000 total entities.

I only have 20 PAR30 can downrights in my entire single story home. If it were twice as big I don’t think I’d have more because I’d add bedrooms and those typically get fans with fixtures in Texas. (and I think that’s being generous)

Considering I won’t replace decorative fixtures - unless you also have other bulbs like leds with candelabra bases and standard Edison base bulbs… You guys are going to have a problem finding candidates at 100 lamps. Half that will be reachable… Maybe.

Yes, there are indeed many types of lights, but whether they need to be smartened depends on the actual use case. This is also one of the main purposes of this initiative: to uncover smart home needs for large homes across various regions in the U.S. In your specific scenario, many lights may not even require dimming or color tuning; simply replacing them with a smart switch could suffice. If you have around 100 switch + light devices, that’s already a sizable network. If it’s still difficult to find the right options, we would consider lowering the requirements. In fact, even with 20 devices, you can clearly see the difference from regular Wi-Fi lights.

Yes, you are right, we change this condition to 50 lights

I don’t think I have that many lights in my entire house… but I’m not in the USA anyway.
