Getting Started: missing info on hardware?

Hi, new user to Home Assistant and home automation.
I’m looking at the “getting started” guide:

Automating Home Assistant

The guide walks me through setting up a “turn the lights on at sunset” example - but makes no mention of the hardware required for this. I’m literally a noob with HA, and have no idea where to start to get “sunset” to be recognized by my Rasberry or PC (PC to just get started, RPI when I have more time).

You need a light that you can control.

The default config out of the box recognizes sunset and sunrise if you have provided it with your location (during the onboarding process)
