What’s a good priced external SSD thats like 1tb and would work well with the home assistant, I think USB is the only way to go.
I had this one recommended to me. I have 2 now (for 2 HA instances) and have had no problems for the last couple of years.

I have the Samsung T7 - a little more expensive as it is 1TB, but they have smaller capacity models as well - and it doens’t need a case (or any external power supply because it draws very little power) and even comes with the perfect C to USB 3.0 cable that works perfectly with the RPI.
So stupid question, but it didn’t work out of the box, so I formatted it NTFS, still doesn’t work. I plugged it in, restarted the system, and it said
There is no suitable external device found. The storage capacity of the external data disk must be larger than the storage capacity of the existing disk
It’s over 400gb and the emmc is definitely not larger. Don’t think that’s even possible.
What am I supposed to do here?
The drive needs to be formatted in ext4
for the Pi to be able to use it.
Okay so it needed a power supply in the fork of a USB powered hub, and now it’s taking like a long time. I had a Nearly full home assistant with a 64 or 128gb emmc card, how long should it take?
The light on the drive and odroid n2+ both are blinking still so I assume it’s still going?
I’ve used these for a couple of years without any issues.
