Google Assistant: allow dimmer to be exposed as a generic multilevel switch instead of light

Google Assistant is very aggressive when it comes to seeking out lights. They look at names as well as metadata. All lights are then treated as a group. I want to selectively expose dimmers to Google Assistant as a generic multilevel switch. I should still be able to say “Hey Google, living 50%”, but “Hey Google, light on” should not mess with my opt-out dimmers. I was able to accomplish this under SmartThings by avoiding the term light or dimmer in my names and choosing a switch for the icon (in SmartThings). When Google Assistant sees a switch they allow you to change the type under settings. So, you could make a switch a light. Unfortunately, you can’t make a light something else. My use case is that Google Assistant always manipulates more lights than I want. In fact, Google often gets confused and manipulates all lights in the house. That’s really bad at night-- especially if people are sleeping. My goal is to have a single light associated with each room even if there are other dimmers present.
