On the documentation for Google Assistant

Does this mean i can force Google Assistant to see devices differently? e.g. a switch as a scene? if so how?
Little more background. If I tell google to turn off my living room it turns everything off, however it also switches the input on my TV. My TV is dumb and every input is a switch so i can keep track of the active input. So i want to expose these switches as a scene or script to Google Assistant and wondered if it’s possible?
I know I could make it work by creating a scene and expose that to Google Assistant but though i would ask to save on a bit of scripting if possable
