I had recently starting using the Cloud option in HA and switched from using Google Assistant via the manual setup to the cloud. Everything was working nicely until my RPi crashed and I finally setup my NUC using the HassIO image. The NUC is running nicely however I can’t get the Google Assistant linking to work. In theory nothing should have needed to change (I wouldn’t have thought) however if I ask a Google Home device to turn something on or off if tells me there was an error with that device. I have tried unlinking and relinking HassIO in the Google Home app however it seems to fail on the relinking part.
Likewise, if I try to use a voice command to a Google Home device I get something along the lines of “there was an error with the kitchen light”. It’s driving me crazy not being able to fix this
Does anyone have an idea how to help here? I’ve lost track how many times I’ve unlinked / relinked the HassIO component to Google Home on my phone. Each time I get all my devices show up again, but I can’t control them. Very frustrating!
Does anyone have any ideas? No matter how many times I unlink / relink HassIO to the Google Home app I am only able to see the devices there but not control them. Not having voice control in my house has become rather annoying…
