Off to bed, already 00:30 here, goodnight
To be fair the ones that are warning me are my personal ones, so its all just on me being lazy (I’ll get it done before 0.89 if I need to). Really I should tidy some of them up and offer them as pull requests since they mostly just add small things to existing components.
hmmm
the api is indeed pointing to open/close
but i dont see it listed here : https://developers.google.com/actions/smarthome/traits/
wanted tp make a change in the google assistant component myself
so not sure if its possible or not
OK I was able to do this and am only exposing the lights and switches I want. Everything got exposed which is probably in the 60 device range. I am not using rooms though. Instead I just create a group of lights or group of switches in HA and call that BEDROOM or DOWNSTAIRS and sync that as a light or a switch. I guess I lose the ability to say Turn off lights to turn off a room I am in and have to instead say “Turn off Bedroom” Is there any other advantage to putting your lights/switches in actual rooms in the Google app that I am missing? I can’t think of one so this device limitation bug with rooms is not negatively affecting me now.
With 3 GH devices for me that’s a significant disadvantage. Any room I’m in I can just say turn on/off the lights without having to remember the specific light.
guys, #room: issue is is fixed!!
Is test enabling fixed as well or do we still need gactions?
was fixed yesterday
oh, , and btw i found a new place where you can also unlink an service :), for the test app
its easy : https://myaccount.google.com/accountlinking
somehow, i saw on that webpage that an old project was still link , while it wasnt, and even was a delete project, maybe that caused also my corruption
This might be a random question, but does anyone know how to change the name from “My Test App”?
I’m referring to the response for “Hey Google, Sync my devices” response?
Google Assistant responds with “Syncing Devices for My Test App”.
I’d like to change that to something more appropriate.
I dont think you can.
no, that notification is everyone getting, still a small glitch
Syncing Devices for My Test App
even if you have no services linked, you get that message, everyone gets it
normally if no linked services => then it will say something like: you dont have services
and if you have linked your test project, the name is also in the service
like : ok, i am sync ‘test’ hass assistant
I’m not sure if you’re saying this can be changed or not.
But I guess the glitch might be fixed at some point in the future?
Is there somewhere to track this or report it?
this the glitch : Syncing Devices for My Test App
you should not get that, even when there are no linked services
you should get something like :
You got it, synching devices for “PROJECT NAME” …
I see, thanks.
I’m wondering, is this something thats currently being tracked by the Google Assistant team?
Do we know if this will be fixed?
Why do you care about it? When you have linked hassio , then you don’t see that message… And if you have linked any service, then you don’t need to sync anyway
I already said why I care about it, I’d like to change it to something more appropriate.
I don’t understand why you’re asking why I care.
You speak like you’re knowledgable on this, and if as you’ve said its a glitch (bug), then it should probably be fixed.
Asking again, do you know if the Google Assistant team knows about this glitch (bug)?
Do you know if this being tracked somewhere so I can follow it?
Should I just go look elsewhere?
but i dont get it, why you say to your google home “sync my devices” ?
=> if you get that message below, you dont have services linked! so what do you even want to sync?
google is probably aware, since this glitch was after the “room” fix, probably still more issues left
I’m referring to the response for “Hey Google, Sync my devices” response?
Google Assistant responds with “Syncing Devices for My Test App”.
as i mentioned earlier if you link your HA project, then the message is CORRECT, then it tells you the project name that you created
Ok, I’m having trouble following you.
Seems that we’re crossing some wires here, so lets clarify.
Here is what I can see from this discussion:
You say:
Using the command “Hey Google, Sync my devices” should respond with “Syncing devices for ‘PROJECT NAME’”
If Google Assistant responds with “Syncing Devices for My Test App” this means that the project is not linked.
Everyone is getting this message “Syncing Devices for My Test App”. You say this is a glitch.
I’m saying:
My project is linked.
I can change something and sync it again, and it will pull changes.
It is working.
When I instruct Google Assistant to sync, it responds with "Syncing Devices for My Test App”
After a few seconds, I can see changes updated in the Google Home app.
So, if the above is correct:
What do you mean by glitch?
What do you mean by “then you don’t need to sync anyway”?
Also, in my Google Home app, my project shows up as “[test] my test app”. I can use without error. Should this be showing like this?
