Google Home, HASS Cloud, can't seem to get "turn on the porch light" to do anything

I signed up for a trial for the hass cloud integration. Linked the hass service (I think), and told hass to sync devices. I only have an android phone, no actual Google Home devices.

Does this require a google home device?I Was under the assumption it did not.
