Unless there is now a better option for implementing doorbell and other alarms, the Google Home Mini seems like one of the best options, but I think it requires an internet connection to work, which is far from ideal. So a couple of questions.
Firstly, can it be set up to work locally? I don’t mind needing an internet connection to set it up, but the rest of my smart devices work fine offline.
Secondly, is there a better alternative? I know I can use a Pi, but it would need a speaker connection, and I want something a bit easier to set up and a bit more aesthetically domestic.
