"Google Home" Theme - Light & Dark

HA! I figured it was something simple!

Hello again, just updating that v1.0.2 includes a fix for the links colors, hopefully you’re still using the theme…

Actually I do, great job :+1: seems like hassio tab is bugging though. Has a big black bar up top with no visible option to go “back”. Other than that it works great!

that’s unfortunate… can you upload a screenshot? i don’t use hassio

Here you go! It’s like the light and dark theme switched

 @liron,

The change of primary_color to "#000000" (black) in the light theme and to "#ffffff" (white) in the dark theme would make headers in the Hassio tab, HACS UI, and Compact Header display incorrectly as @filikun’s screenshots. Changing it back would fix the issue.

Thanks!

@N-l1would that break header color again though?

It’s a nice looking theme but I have the same issue that @filikun documented. The headers appear to be reversed and when I manually change the primary color, it further breaks the theme as all text becomes unreadable. I’ve tried clearing cache, etc., but haven’t manage to get it working yet…

That said, great job on theme, very sharp!

FWIW, I’m running Home Assistant official Docker container on Ubuntu and installed the theme through HACS.

EDIT:
Something to do with slim header plugin. When that’s disabled, both themes work fine. Once re-enabled, the headers appear broken again (dark header on light theme and white header on dark theme).

For me changing the primary_color seems to do the trick

you mean compact header plugin? if so - it has its own theme, try to set these:
ch-background: ‘…’
ch-active-tab-color: ‘…’
ch-all-tabs-color: ‘…’

and thank you for the compliments!

Ah ok, that worked for me and yes, I meant the Custom Header plugin which replaced the Compact Custom Header.

My bad if some of these are off, but looks close enough to the screenshots!

  ### Slim Header - Light ###
  ch-background: "#ffffff"
  ch-active-tab-color: "#c1c1c1"
  ch-all-tabs-color: "#000000"

  ### Slim Header - Dark ###
  ch-background: "#000000"
  ch-active-tab-color: "#ffffff"
  ch-all-tabs-color: "#2b2b2b"

Thank you for your help!!

Hi

I just downloaded the Theme yesterday and i really like it. I’m not sure if you already talked about this, but on my Hass.io Page the Header is black. Only on Hass.io. All other headers are white.

Is there a way how i can change this?

thanks
philipp

Thanks liron!

Just checked it and now it works and the header in the hassio-section is in the same grey as below.
I didn’t change anything except restarting hassio once during the day.

Your Theme looks great! Thanks a lot for your work!

Hass.io builds of the frontend don’t follow the same schedule as Home Assistant, so this will be fixed when a new Hass.io supervisor is released with a new version of its frontend.

Odd. I don’t even use hassio and I still see this same problem.

I’ve read through this but I’m still not sure how to fix the issue of hass.io page header being black?

Is what you sent through saying to just wait until hass.io supervisor is updated?

Yes, when hass.io release a new version this should be fixed. the problem is that they don’t use a correct variable from the global theme definition.

So how about those of us that don’t use HassIO?

Can you describe your issue please? if you don’t use Hassio you’re not experiencing the same situation as described in the above screenshot.

Literally the same problem, only it’s on every page, no matter what.

Well, except it’s on every page.
