Google Maps Travel Time - Invalid authentication

I’m trying to add the Google Maps Travel Time integration via the official doc (Google Maps Travel Time - Home Assistant)

but get an error Invalid authentication. I assume this is due to the API key. The instructions are a bit vague only pointing to the page on Google. However there are a few different types

and I chose the first one.

You only need to turn on the Distance matrix API which I couldn’t find (assume this is in the restrict access area).

What’s the correct way to create this API key and restrict it to the Distance matrix API?

By way of update in case someone else is running into the same issue.

The solution was to create a new project. I was trying to add the credentials to an existing project
