Google Music Desktop How?

Hi,

For the life of me I can’t get anything out of the Google Desktop Music Player component, it doesn’t have an on/off button and the rest of the controls are greyed out, can anyone help?

Did you allow Enable playback API and setup the firewall properly?

Yes both the JSON and playback API’s are enabled and as far as I know the firewall is setup correctly.

Restart Home Assistant while GMDP is running/is playing and check if there are errors in the log.

There don’t appear to be any errors when I restart HA while GMDP is running/playing.

When I try to turn the player on HA says that it isn’t implemented and when I try to send an mp3 file to it HA says that it has an unknown argument “enqueue” TypeError: play_media() got an unexpected keyword argument ‘enqueue’ so maybe I need to specify the file in different way?

It hasn’t worked for me since the recent update, 3.3 I think. Just installed the previous version3.25 and it’s working again.

Well, I’m still on 3.2.5 seems to be the reason that my setup is still works.

$ rpm -qi google-play-music-desktop-player
Name        : google-play-music-desktop-player
Version     : 3.2.5
...

OK, reverting back to 3.2.5 gets it to work, however I still can’t play anything I want just change the currently playing tune, I was after something to play a playlist or a specific tune. So it’s back to the drawing board :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for the heads up tho’ :slight_smile:
