Google Nest Mini Gen 2 Install

Hello
I’ve purchase four Google Nest Minis Gen 2 for around the house. My goal is to have IoT things play a chime and TTS over each speaker at the same time. For example, when the LG washing machine has finished it’s cycle, then a chime will play along with the appropriate TTS (“Washing Cycle is Complete”). Currently when the wash cycle is complete, I’ve got a light bulb that flashes red for seven seconds and then remains on for 5 minutes. I’d like to add to that automation a chime and TTS that should play over the Google Nest Mini.

So, what is it I need to do to get the GNM to integrate with HA? I’m not planing on using Google Assistant to tell me the outside temperature or play music, but maybe the integration would be smoother if I did connect the mini to Google Home? It’s my understanding that the GNM needs to be on the same network as HA. So am I downloading Google Home onto my cell phone then powering up the Mini and configuring it that way? Am I installing the Google integration first on HA then powering up the Mini then moving on to configure it?

Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided.

I don’t think you have any choice but to add them to Google Home, as that’s how they get the credentials for your wifi network. Then you add the Google Cast integration to get them into HA.

Did you get this working. I have mine conexted to Google home and Google Assistent/Google Cast integrations installed and they seem to be working but cant work out how to play by doorbell sound throught it. I can cast from my mobile and it seems to be set up OK.

Hi There.

Can you answer a few questions for me just so I understand how your setup is working?

1.) Is your Google Nest Mini functioning correctly? In other words if you ask it to tell you what the weather will be like tomorrow, will it respond?
2.) Do you have and entity such as this: “binary_sensor.front_door_bell_doorbell”
3.) Is your door bell made by Ubiquity? This doesn’t matter, except I can help with the door bell chime.

Thanks.
