I have a bunch or chromecasts and googles homes around my house, these include play groups.
Every few days home assistant starts showing duplicates of some devices and play groups. Reboot fixes it for a few days.
Anyone else see this?
Thanks

I had the same issue when I had a group setup in my Google Assistant app for my Google Homes. It would often show the group twice (i.e. “Home group” and “Home Group 2”). No idea what was causing it but I just ended up hiding the second group in the customize.yaml file. I ended up just deleting the group altogether since I don’t really use it.
This is related to chromecast groups I think.
Shows up one for self and once for group.
Nope it isn’t groups because my google home as well as my cc audio and videos do it as well as my groups. It seems the discovery just keeps adding them.
I’m having the same issue without any groups. All my google devices (chromecast, home, and home mini) show up twice. Reboot fixes the problem for me as well. I guess I’ll just have to schedule HA to restart every day.
Mine has stopped doing this after I switched the dashboard around and split my devices into their own tab. I have a media player tab and playgroup tab no more dups. I have even added 2 more google homes since and all good. But you have to switch to a default view setting.
After I removed cast discovery component from the configure wizard and re added it, all my groups doubled. The extra groups were also visible in the google home app. I deleted the extra groups but when I did an restart of homeassistant the groups added themselves. Is there a configuration file where the discovery cast devices are kept. So that I can just delete and create a new setup with only one copy of each group. Currently I have media_player.bedroom_group and media_player.bedroom_group_2.
