Do you know how to say via tts.google_say question? Because it is read sentence with question mark normally without changed intonation.
Do you want me to turn off the light? Do ya, punk?
I’d say it’s a clear question.
But I remember there was an feature to TTS where you could manually set something in the speech, it was released about 6-9 months ago I think.
I actually believe it is what you are looking for but I haven’t used it and I can’t find it.
Hiya - did you ever get a solution?
I want the same - using cloud_say with a ? at the end is still spoken as a statement, rather than the naturally raised intonation (inflection?) of a question at the end.
If you want good TTS with Google use this:
You get a free monthly contingent, which is sufficient for all private user cases.
can you confirm that it also works with the question?
Yes. Try it out:
Yes but only in English
Yes I know but only in English question works.
I can confirm that in German it works as well. Maybe this is a limitation of your language?!
You can try with SSML. Not sure if this works through Homeassistant or for your language but might be worth a try:
You can also try other TTS services compatible with HA and see if the result is better
How did you get Google text-to-speech to phrase a question correctly? When I use it gives me the same result, regardless of whether I write it as a question or not. Did you use ssml? If so please show us the code snippet as I am struggling to find proper documentation on it that contains a simple explanation.
For me, in German, it is enough to use a question mark. I can’t help any further than what I provided in the posts above.
