Love these devices. Configured in GoSund app. They work well with Alexa and easy to configure.
Now trying to add them to HA. I searched up and found that we need to use the TUYA integration. After a bunch of Google searches, could not get past the validation using the QR code.
Installed the TUYA app (even though the devices were in the Gosund app). Set up account, got past the QR code authentication. Figured I could re-install the plugs into this app.
Now, when I click Add Device in HA and select Tuya, it gives me the same enter your user code and scan QR code. Round and round.
Updated to latest version of HA. Restarted HA. Cleared the Cache on the mobile app. Removed all the users attached to the TUYA app in HA.
you set up using the gosund app, not the tuya app?
could u try downloading the tuya app and log in with the same login info as you have for the gosund app?
I think that even though they are essentially the same app, they may be different accounts behind the two apps. when I tried to log into gosund using my tuya account it failed.
so I’m guessing that the tuya integration only works with tuya and smart life accounts.
If you try logging in with the tuya app on your phone and it fails or doesn’t show your devices, then I’d try switching over to the tuya app and then use the tuya (or localtuya) integration
Yeah. That is what I tried. Once I could not get the Gosund app to scan the QR code on the Tuya HA integration, I downloaded the Tuya app onto my phone and set up an account using the same credentials as Gosund.
Then I could get past the QR code scan. But now when I go to add a device is starts over asking me to enter the user code from the Tuya app and scan the QR code. Never gets to adding a device.
apologies if this is a dumb question, but you are grabbing the right user code right? It’s the alpha numeric junk above the delete account button… It is not your username or email.
Yes. This code comes from the Tuja phone app under Account and Security. It is about 8 digits long. I get past that and then HA presents me with a QR code to scan (lines added by me for security). (I know it is working cause when I was using the Gosund user code it did not take it).
After I scan it with my phone in the Tuya app I am brought to the home page on the Tuya ap. In HA I hit that Submit button and I am back at the Devices page.
I think I got it. I was trying to use the Tuya app without any devices. I finally decided to wipe a device back to factory default and onboard it with the Tuya app instead of Gsund. That worked!
yes, my belief is that the gosund is actually a wholly different set of accounts that the tuya integration does not know how to access. so all your devices that are provisioned the gosund app are not visible to tuya. you need to be using the tuya (or smartlife) app. completely migrate off gosund.
